First Day

Today was the first day of school. Lucky for me, I only had to go for a half day, because I only work for half of the day on Tuesdays. I was excited to see the kids and get back into the swing of things, but I'm going to be honest - being a teacher is hard. It takes a lot of energy keeping up with those little bodies, and by the end of the day, I am pooped.

The good news is, kids say really funny stuff, which helps you get through the day of teaching. I had a new little kindergartener with no front teeth ask me if they were going to get candy at the end of Creative Movement class. I had two first grade boys being silly and sucking their thumbs during an activity, and before I could get onto them about it, another little girl walked over to both of them and said, "That's how you get the swine flu." Those boys were wiping their thumbs off on their shirts faster than you could even imagine.

Each day is a new day, and I look forward to the challenge, and especially, the possibilities. I'm hoping for a nice, peaceful, uneventful year...we'll see what happens!!!

HOLLA -
